What do Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Floyd Mayweather have in common?
Two things actually — they are the only athletes who have earned over billion dollars in sports and they all had a coach to help them along the way.
One of the fastest ways to achieve any type of goal is to get a mentor, coach, or someone who is there to help you guide you.
I won’t lie, I am still getting better at taking advice. Too often I have an “I can do it myself” mentality.
Looking back it’s pretty ironic because I was always a pretty good golfer but worked with some great instructors and mentors to go from good to great.
With blogging, becoming an author, and freelancing I was a beginner and didn’t seek out a coach of any sort for the first year. I think it’s one of the reasons I struggled so much, “quit” a few times and procrastinated.
But since I quit my job in May to become a digital nomad I’ve sought out a ton of advice and guidance as I realized there are endless amounts to learn about blogging, writing, and building an online business.
Last week I had a coaching call with Daniel from Rich 20Something and learned so much. I am mad at myself for not reaching out to other successful people sooner.
Don’t think if you’re not an athlete you don’t need a coach. Some of the most successful people in the world have had coaching, mentors, or advisors to help them achieve their goals.
Do you Need a Coach?
Do you actually need a coach? It depends on where you are and what you are trying to accomplish.
It depends on where you are and what you are trying to accomplish.
If you’re just starting out something new or are an expert already a coach be extremely helpful.
Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, two of the greatest basketball players ever, had an incredible conditioning coach as well as his coach Phil Jackson. Their conditioning coach, Tim Grover, I recently discovered on a podcast and can’t recommend him or his book enough!
Paul Tudor Jones, an investor and one of the wealthiest humans alive, works with Tony Robbins almost every day.
Tiger Woods in his prime had a swing coach, mental coach, and trainer.
The greats have all had help along the way, why shouldn’t you?
If you’re just starting a business, trying to make life changes, or get your body in shape coaching can help.
Here are the top reasons a coach can get you results faster and save you a ton of stress along the way:
A coach will hold you accountable — they will make you follow through.
Having an accountability partner for anything in life is huge. Whether you are working out, starting a new side hustle, or setting a new goal.
Accountability is huge.
Since I’ve been working alone I think I have a ton of personal accountability but all the coaching calls I’ve had motivated me to get more tasks done!
When you are only accountable for yourself it is very easy to say “I’m too busy” or do something else instead.
Coaches will hold you accountable to follow through on your tasks.
As Tony Robbins has said, “Success leaves clues.”
Whether you want to be a better manager at work, better investor, better entrepreneur or athlete — all successful people leave clues on how they have achieved so much.
If you want to be an athlete you know you need to workout for hours a day, practice your sport another few hours, stretch, and eat right. It’s no secret.
But with business, relationships, losing weight or starting a blog it might not always be as easy to detect the exact clues.
Coaches and mentors will use their experience to guide you in the right direction no matter what goal you are working towards!
We all have the same 24 hours — the more efficient you are the more you can accomplish.
Coaches can you show you where you are wasting time and how you can improve much more quickly.
Coaches have already made it through the struggles you have and can show you the roadmap.
No more wandering around feeling lost!
Saves You Frustration
Coaches have been there and done it (well hopefully) and can help avoid the frustration that comes with trying to master something new.
They can help you succeed faster by not getting as frustrated as trying to accomplish it on your own. Coaches can also help you by breaking down big goals into small, manageable tasks.
If you’re setting your goals right they will be BIG.
While I encourage you to set big goals it can be intimidating at first. They will help create mini goals and deadlines to achieve your big goals.
Coaches will help you along the way, provide encouragement, feedback, and ensure you don’t get as frustrated as you might when working alone.
Coaches and mentors are able to bring new ideas to the table.
When you go after anything challenging usually you’ll have to try new ideas to make it work.
As Tony Robbins has said, “If you do what you’ve always done you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.”
I’ve been a victim of this in 2017 until June. I kept doing the same things in golf, blogging, and working out and expecting different results.
It didn’t work (shocker).
Instead, I have worked with coaches, mentors, and read a ton on anything I wanted to improve in my personal and professional life. By mixing it up I have gotten so much better results!
The blog coaching I’ve had has helped me so much. All other bloggers brought something different to the table but all of them were well worth the money!
I’m very excited to start my blog coaching services for new bloggers.
In 2017 alone I have learned so much and made so many mistakes but it has all paid off.
I’ve grown my blog from 1,000 page views in January to over 14,000 in August and on pace for 20,000 this month.
Here are my Google analytics for 2017:
I want to help you avoid the countless mistakes I made during this growth. Although the graph goes up almost every month it was much more work than any Google account can show.
My goal is to help you get past the beginning part of writing, not getting any traffic and being overwhelmed with all that blogging entails.

When it comes to reaching your goals, coaches can help get you results faster and hold you accountable during the process.
Some of the best athletes and business leaders have had coaches or mentors help them succeed quicker.
If you need help in your life, fitness, or business don’t be to stubborn to ask for help. Seek out others who are doing what you want to be doing and learn from them.
If you are thinking of starting a blog or just starting out I am happy to help you succeed quicker. I have struggled with a ton since I first started and been beyond frustrated.
I want to help you succeed quicker, avoid frustrations, and focus on writing instead of the details of blogging.
